Privacy policy
Last updated: November 3, 2026
Unhurried Years is an app for budgeting, savings goals, paying off debt and planning for retirement, made by Unhurried Years LLC, a Florida company ("we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the app, and what you can do about it. If anything is unclear, write to hello@unhurriedyears.com.
The short version
- We collect what you type into the app and what we need to run it. Nothing more.
- We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or show ads.
- Only you can see your financial data in the app.
- You can delete your account and all of your data in Settings at any time.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and your password. The password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, so nobody can read it, us included.
- Your settings: your language, currency, time zone and the choices you make in Settings, such as which cards Home shows. If you add them, your name and your birth year.
- The financial information you enter: your accounts and their balances, your transactions and categories, your budgets, your savings goals and deposits, and the terms and plan of your debts (rates, minimum payments, the order you choose).
- Error reports from the website: when something breaks, a short technical report (what went wrong, where in the code, the browser and system, and the page without any personal part of its address). Before a report leaves your browser, we remove emails, sign-in tokens, ids and every amount, and we never include your IP address, cookies or what you typed.
- Basic technical logs: the services that host the app keep short-lived logs of requests (for example the time and the IP address) to keep it secure and working.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser or phone stores a sign-in token so you stay signed in, and the language and theme you chose.
Features that are on the way
- Bank connections: if you choose to connect a bank, we will use Plaid to bring in your accounts, balances and transactions. You will sign in to your bank through Plaid, and we never see your bank password. You can disconnect a bank at any time. Nothing is connected unless you do it.
- The assistant: if you choose to use it, the questions you ask and the figures needed to answer them will be sent to an AI provider to write the answer. We will ask for your permission first, and we will not allow the provider to use your data to train its models.
We will update this policy before either feature is turned on.
How we use it
Only to run the app for you: to show your numbers, work out your plans and dates, keep your account secure, send the emails you need (confirming your email, resetting your password), and find and fix problems. We do not make decisions about you, such as credit decisions, and we do not build a profile of you for anyone else.
Who helps us run the app
These companies process data only on our behalf, to provide their service:
- Supabase: our database and sign-in. Your data and your account are stored there.
- Cloudflare: hosts the website and the web app.
- Resend: sends the sign-up and password emails.
- Sentry: receives the error reports described above.
- Google Workspace: our email, if you write to us.
We share data with anyone else only if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of people or the service.
How we protect it
All traffic is encrypted. In the database, every person's rows are kept apart by rules that check who is asking, so one person can never read another's data. Access to our systems is limited to the people who build the app.
How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. When you delete your account in Settings, your sign-in and all of your data are deleted right away. Copies can remain in our providers' backups for a short time until those backups expire. Error reports are kept for a limited time by Sentry and then deleted.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your data in the app at any time.
- Delete your account and all of your data in Settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask any question about it, at hello@unhurriedyears.com. We answer within 30 days.
Children
Unhurried Years is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use it, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
